SHARON HORAK, CPA, TAX MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERTISE
Sharon has been with SMC since October 2006, and she has been a Manager with the firm since January 2009. Sharon’s focus is on corporate and individual taxation.
Her area of expertise is real estate operations and development, where she assists clients with tax planning and compliance through all stages of real estate ownership (acquisition, development, operations, and disposition). She researches complex tax issues and coaches staff in the application of current tax law.
She is skilled in her understanding of pass-through entities, such as Limited Liability Companies and Limited Partnerships. She works with the members and partners of these entities to assess how their business decisions will impact their individual tax situation.
Her background also includes experience in C and S corporations. In most cases, Sharon also assists clients with their individual returns and assesses the impact of business entity decisions on the shareholder's personal tax return. She is also skilled in advising non-profit entities and assists them with compliance issues in regards to with the new 2008 IRS rules.
