DAVID P. TUTTLE, CPA, CVA
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERTISE
Mr. Tuttle heads up the firm’s audit and accounting functions. He is responsible for establishing and monitoring the firm's quality control policies and procedures. He is also involved in forensic accounting and litigation services, including business valuations, mergers and acquisitions, as well as evaluation of various forms of economic damages and economic issues in family law.
EXPERIENCE
- Served clients in a variety of fields including: construction and real estate development, manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, banking, legal, engineering, agriculture, and not-for-profit government entities
- Designated in 1998 as a Certified Valuation Analyst
EDUCATION
- Graduated in 1971 with a degree in zoology from the University of California-Santa Barbara
- Took courses at California State University-San Bernardino in business and accounting through 1976, while working in the field of public health
- Earned the Elijah Watt Sells Award for high scores (top 5% in the nation) on the National CPA Examination in 1976
- Continuing education through professional reading includes changes in auditing standards and accounting principles, current business valuation issues, and tax law changes
- Licensed CPA, California
PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS
- Past president and long-time board member of the Citrus Belt Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants
- Served four years on the Society's committee responsible for administrating AICPA's program of quality service for the state of California.
- Current chairman of the Society's state accounting principles and auditing standards committee.
- Past president, Inland Empire branch of the Southern California Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation
- Served on Shelter Homes’ board, located in Redlands, California
- Active coaching and officiating in youth basketball, soccer and swimming organizations

PERSONAL
Mr. Tuttle joins the ranks of other members of SMC in his love for golf. In addition to woodworking and gardening, he enjoys camping with his wife, Karen.
