Uniquely Equipped Staff Members Join the SMC Team
Soren McAdam Christenson LLP is pleased to announce that three new key team members have joined the firm’s staff: Julia Cox, Audit Sr. Manager; Amada Robinson, Construction Team Manager; and, Barbara Rasmussen, Tax - Sr. Manager. Each of these new staff members is uniquely equipped to service clients in a particular industry.

Julia Cox has over 14-years’ experience serving both publicly and privately held clients in the manufacturing, distribution, and retail industries. She is experienced in SEC registration statements, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, accounting for inventory, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and employee benefit plans.
Cox’s past experience includes working at Ernst & Young from 1991 to 2005, in both the Inland Empire and Orange County. She Graduated from San Diego State University, CA where she earned a BS (with honors) in Business Administration, with an emphasis in accounting. She is a member of AICPA, California Society of CPA’s, and is a past Board member of the United Way of the Inland Valleys, where she presently serves as a Finance Committee member.
Amada Robinson has strong expertise in the areas of real estate development, construction, and home-building. Prior to joining SMC’s Construction Management Team, she had 16-years of experience in accounting and finance in the home-building and construction industries, plus asset and property management (real estate and loans for failed financial institutions). She also has held controller roles for companies in Orange and Riverside counties, and has served as Director of Financial Planning Analysis for a firm in Nashville, Tennessee.
Robinson’s expertise gives SMC clients the benefit of her comprehensive understanding of both industries and systems. She holds certificates for training in the areas of mechanic’s lien law, sales and use tax, financial statement analysis, workers’ compensation, 401k, and human resources. A graduate of the University of Montemorelos, Mexico, she holds a BS (with honors) in Business Administration, with an emphasis in accounting. She is bilingual and provides accounting services in Spanish. She is a CPA, and serves as Board member and treasurer both for the Mentone Team School, and the Mentone Seventh Day Adventist church.
Barbara Rasmussen has strong expertise in the areas of A&A and tax-manufacturing, as well as in inventory-based activities, healthcare, and internal control systems. Past experience includes serving in the position of Controller at London Enterprises, and for Sport Carriers, Inc. Her expertise with Sarbanes-Oxley testing, and strong understanding in the area of systems’ improvement, makes her a valuable addition to the SMC Team. She earned her BS in accounting from California State University, San Bernardino, and her MBA from Cal Poly, Pomona. She is a member of AICPA and the California Society of CPA’s.
