Soren McAdam Christenson LLP Names David J. Harris Partner

David Harris will join SMC as a partner, effective January 1, 2005. Mr. Harris managed Ernst & Young's Riverside office prior to consolidation with the Irvine office. Harris has been with the "big four" accounting firm for over two decades.

"Soren McAdam Christenson represents a tremendous opportunity to participate in the growth of the firm and the marketplace. I'm pleased to be able to work in the Inland Empire where I have spent my entire life living, working, and supporting activities in the Inland Empire and look forward to the same for many years to come," said Harris of his professional transition.

Harris is well known for his public accounting reputation and his work as the director of the Inland Empire Entrepreneur of the Year ™ and as past director of Entrepreneurial Services for the Riverside office for Ernst & Young.

His many community activities and organizations in the Inland Empire include chairman of the Board of the Children’s Fund, and board member and treasurer for the Inland Empire Economic Partnership. Previous activities include: past chairman of the board of directors and treasurer for the United Way of the Inland Valleys; member of the advisory council for Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Riverside; board of directors for the Greater Riverside Chamber of Commerce; member of the advisory committee for the Cal Poly Center for Entrepreneurship; California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Leadership Council; member of the board of the Riverside Downtown Association and the March of Dimes; past treasurer of CORE21; founding board member of the Moreno Valley California Youth Soccer Association.

Harris has 20 years of accounting, auditing, and business advisory experience, serving public and privately held and entrepreneurial companies in the retail, distribution, manufacturing, and construction industries. His experience includes SEC registration statements, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and business advisory services.

Mr. Harris has lived in the Inland Empire since the age of five. He graduated from Upland High School, attended Chaffey College, and graduated from California State Polytechnic University with a bachelor of science degree. He is a licensed CPA in California and member of both the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
